That’s why, if you are coming off a long haul flight, we recommend you stay in a local hotel overnight before picking up your motorhome and commencing your New Zealand road trip. This way you can unwind and relax, then start your motorhome adventure feeling fresh and ready for anything the next day.
When driving in New Zealand you need to be aware of some of the key road rules, for example:
- We drive on the left side of the road
- New Zealand has many hilly, narrow or winding roads. This means your journey may take you longer than expected, so you’ll need to plan for this.

We will provide you with information about how to drive safely in New Zealand when you collect your motorhome.
